Mrs. T and I plan to see a movie a bit later. We were thinking about the new Nick Cage flick KNOWING. The previews looked pretty cool, but I'm open to other suggestions. Lord knows those IMDB audience ratings have been WAY off lately...well, to my taste anyways :\

Thanks for the help =)
I will surely do that...Nick Cage movies have a tendency to be a bit disappointing though, so I'm not 100% this is the movie we'll see. But I'll do an opinion piece of whatever it is that I do see!

Meh. It's all been downhill for Nicholas Coppolla since Raising Arizona anyhow.

OK, we (Mrs. T) and I went and saw KNOWING. All and all it was pretty decent. I actually rather liked it, but I tend to like these kind of movies, so perhaps I'm a bit biased. The story does a complete tailspin toward the end though, but even with that, I'd still rate it pretty highly.

I did, however, notice a few inaccuracies that are kinda nit-picky, but still pretty funny.

One was, on the chalkboard near the beginning of the film, the phrase:

chalkboard wrote:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog

It's a phrase meant to teach children how to write each letter in the alphabet, in cursive script in this particular case. However, the phrase "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" doesn't contain the letter 's'. It's supposed to be "The quick brown fox jump[s] over the lazy dog"...idiot!

The second thing, Mrs. T pointed out to me, was this. First a little background...the thrust of the movie takes place around present day (just a bit in the future)...October 2009. Nick Cage had a telescope pointed at Saturn and asked his kid to come look at the rings of Saturn. However, the rings of Saturn are barely visible now (and will be even less so in October) since the rings are tilting toward Earth...they will be perfectly edge-on in September (http://www.universetoday.com/2008/03/18/why-are-saturns-rings-disappearing/)...idiot!

Anyhow, I do recommend this movie, even keeping in mind there is a bit of a letdown near the end.

Movie!... Movie!... that's life. For us moviehobbiest is really hard to stay from it. About my good movie is that when Bruce Willis rescuing a nurse in the place where rebels are near. But suddenly not only that nurse which they rescued became ther companion but also the townpeople of that certain village. Well, this is very inspirational.

Right On! Other than Raising Arizona, Valley Girl, and the brief bits in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, I can't think of anything with N.C. worth watching.

Yes I have. Con Air is a SFX-laden clusterf*** of a film. Face Off was one of John Woo's worst films, re-hashing stylistic and plot elements he had used in other films. As for National Treasure, I'll just refer you to others' comments in this thread.

I stand by my statement. Raising Arizona is Cage's BEST film. The others I mentioned were at least entertaining.

You are of course wrong!!!!!!!

Con Air was a fantastic action film and thats all it claimed to be and had some fantastic sound bites........and Face Off wasn't a rehashing of pieces of Mr Woo's other films thats his directing style films don't have to be origional they have to be entertaining thats all they're made for.......and as for the National Treasure films they are great.

IIRC, Con Air was worth the price of admission for one simple reason:

Steven Segal got headliner billing...

And they killed him off in the first 10 minutes.

I absolutely LOVE when they do that sort of thing, and especially so when I despise the actor in question so vehemently.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess the movie I'm thinking of was "Executive Decision". Therefore, Con Air is crap. Even John Cusack couldn't save it.

You and I appear to be on the same page, Banzai. If Cusack can't bring something redeeming to a film, it is unredeemable.

Speaking of Seagal, have you seen this:
